Our client is  a very interesting and highly respected Federal Government agency .

Headquartered in Sydney  (with offices in Canberra and Melbourne), they are now looking at adding an extra resource to their very talented IT Infrastructure Team.


The initial term of this contract engagement will be 6 months (likely to extend) and the  Wintel Administrator is essentially a Systems Administrator/Engineer, who will be joining an existing team.


Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager, your work will focus on Business as Usual (BAU) tasks, working with the IT infrastructure and IT security teams,  primarily to deploy group policy and software/application patches for Windows Desktop and Server based systems.


You will be experienced in patching and Group Policy management focusing on deploying applications using Cloud and on-prem patch management tools  (Microsoft Endpoint Manager), configuring group policies to implement security and non-security based  changes to the Windows Desktop and Servers.


If not based in Sydney, you might need to very occasionally travel to Sydney ‘s data centre.


Your experience will include the following:


  • Strong experience supporting Windows Server and Desktop environments support and administration
  • Min 3 years of experience with MS Endpoint Manager (previously  known SCCM, or Intune in the cloud) deploying general and security patches
  • Experience with application packaging software and patching , group policy etc, DHCP, AD, DNS, etc
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 defender (advanced Theat protection) would be a plus , and so will be any experience with Citrix, VMware VDI, vSphere and PowerShell, Azure Automation.


Please note that this role will require Australian Citizenship with existing Baseline Clearance (or the ability to obtain Baseline clearance) and ability to undergo a Police Check.
